The best weapon you (as a player) can obtain depends greatly on your class and level of skill. If you have the option to join raids, the weapons from the Lich King (or Heroic Lich King) encounters are some of the best you can get.

Shadowmourne, a weapon available only to Paladins, Death Knights and Warriors, is only awarded after a long and expensive quest chain, involving a lot of heroic acts in 25man Icecrown Citadel.

If you PvP (player versus player) many of the high-end weapons are extremely powerful, but they require you to play the Arena to earn them.

the best wow weapon used to be the swords that you got from illidan but now with the wrath of the lich king expansion it is the lich kings sword which you can only get by killing the lich king himself

There is none the enchantments are what matter

But if you are looking to hit higher using a unbalanced weapon would help you the most weapons like ungodly reavers of Nulgath and godly golden dragon ax that can hit lower than a normal weapon or hit 2x the normal amount Nulgath has the best unbalanced weapons.(unbalanced means that hit range has the highest difference betwen the two numbers example 0-199 betrayal blade of Nulgath)

Many weps look good but it depends on what type of damage is good for a class unstable weapons are great with chaos shaper and vindicator of they but are crap with cardclasher. rogue is better of with unstable weps. Dlord is good with both. The best looking weapon in my opinion is ungodly reavers of nulgath

The best gun really depends on what stats you want to be the highest and all that stuff, but the gun with the best dps, is the "Rustmaul Gun". It does 804-1494 damage, speed 2.70 and 425.4 dps. It doesn't give any extra attributes, but is really really strong. It requires level 85, the item level is 318, and it sells for 14 gold, 18 silver and 81 copper. I think that if your just going for power, this is the best one.

For Alliance Members

There are also two other guns that has the same damage, speed and dps. One of them is the "Flintlocke's Chuck shooter". The difference is that its +73 agility, and +110 stamina. Also, on equip your critical strike rating is increased by 51, and it increases your haste rating by 45.

For Horde Members

The "Muffled Blunderbuss" also has the exact same damage, speed and dps. The only difference is that it gives +73 strength and +110 stamina. On equip, your hit rating gets increased by 39 and your mastery rating by 54.

There are also many other very strong guns, bu those are just a few of the strongest ones. Have fun getting them in the game!

Shadowmourne is considered the best weapon, which requires a long and difficult questline. It can only be gained by a Warrior, Paladin or Death Knight.

There is no "best" weapon in Diablo 3. Each class uses a different stat so in theory the best weapon for a specific class would be a weapon with maxed out affixes. This is a very rare event and I am not sure if it has happened yet.

It really depends on your class, but is almost always a weapon from the highest tier of raiding that is out at the time.
