What is the book HeavenSteel about?

HeavenSteel is a fantasy novel about a sword that was allegedly made by God himself...according to the legend anyway. A young man named Kejen goes off in search of it. The world this book takes place in seems a lot like ours in the Middle Ages though I read some things that seemed out of the time period. There are some people who resemble Vikings and Mongols and I am not sure what a Northmarcher is but seems like some sort of Russian. There is a major war in the book and I liked that better than the quest part.
