Roman Catholic AnswerScandal is not found in the 1983 Code of Canon Law, I did a text search and turned up nothing. Scandal is defined in the new Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2nd edition:

2284 Scandal is an attitude or behavior which leads another to do evil. The person who gives scandal becomes his neighbor's tempter. He damages virtue and integrity; he may even draw his brother into spiritual death. Scandal is a grave offense if by deed or omission another is deliberately led into a grave offense.

2285 Scandal takes on a particular gravity by reason of the authority of those who cause it or the weakness of those who are scandalized. It prompted our Lord to utter this curse: "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea." Scandal is grave when given by those who by nature or office are obliged to teach and educate others. Jesus reproaches the scribes and Pharisees on this account: he likens them to wolves in sheep's clothing.

2286 Scandal can be provoked by laws or institutions, by fashion or opinion.

Therefore, they are guilty of scandal who establish laws or social structures leading to the decline of morals and the corruption of religious practice, or to "social conditions, that, intentionally or not, make Christian conduct and obedience to the Commandments difficult and practically impossible. This is also true of business leaders who makes rules encouraging fraud, teachers who provoke their children to anger, or manipulators of public opinion who turn it away from moral values.

2287 Anyone who uses the power at his disposal in such a way that it leads others to do wrong becomes guilty of scandal and responsible for the evil that he has directly or indirectly encouraged. "Temptations to sin are sure to come; but woe to him by whom they come!" Luke 17:1

What Scriptures did the Catholic Church change in the Bible?

Roman Catholic AnswerYou are operating with a mistaken assumption. The Catholic Church wrote the Bible, the Catholic Church decided which books were canonical (included in the Bible), and the Catholic Church has conserved the Bible through the centuries. The only ones who changed any Scriptures in the Bible are the protestants, who, after fifteen centuries of a Bible preserved by the Catholic Church came along and threw books out of the Bible, and changed the meanings of books they would not throw out.

Does the Catholic Church recognize a marriage between divorced people one never married in a Catholic Church and one previously married in a Catholic church but not a Catholic?

No. The person who was previously married would need to try to receive a declaration of nullity from the Catholic Church. If the other person is Catholic and attempted to marry outside of the Church without dispensation then that marriage was in and of itself invalid due to lack of canonical form and does not need a declaration of nullity from a tribunal. So in a jist, as long as the divorced Catholic, who never received dispensation from canonical form (i.e. a Catholic priest or deacon receiving the consent who has jurisdiction or permission and two witnesses) was never married in the Catholic Church, then they were never validly married and is free to contract marriage. But this must be done in the Catholic Church unless they get dispensation from canonical form from the Local Ordinary. The non-Catholic is NOT free to marry due to the prior bond that is presumed valid. Their marriage must be investigated and declared null by the competent tribunal for that person to be able to marry. I would highly recommend contacting the chancery of the diocese that you live in to get this process started as this current marriage is invalid.

Does the Catholic Church approve the reading of NKJV?

What is the Society of St. Pius X?

The Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) is an international Traditionalist Catholic organization, founded in 1970 by the French archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. For doctrinal rather than disciplinary reasons, the society has no canonical status in the Catholic Church and, because of that lack of canonical status, the ministries exercised by its ministers are not legitimate in the Church. The members reject the changes made to the Church by the Second Vatican Council.

If a Roman Catholic woman marries a Greek Orthodox man without proper dispensation from Catholic Canonical Law can an annullment be obtained in the Catholic Church?

If the Catholic woman marries a Orthodox man without a dispensation from the Church the marriage is ipso facto invalid, thus no annulment process needs to be begun - the marriage is plainly invalid.
