The Hague (in Dutch, Den Haag or 's-Gravenhage) is where the government is seated, including Parliament, the monarchy, the high courts and foreign embassies.
Each of the 12 provinces also have a capital. Amsterdam is not the capital of the province it's in. Den Haag is.
The capitals of the provinces are:
Noord-Holland (the province with the actual capital Amsterdam): Haarlem
Zuid-Holland: Den Haag/The Hague
Zeeland: Middelburg
Utrecht: Utrecht (the names of the province and the capital are the same for this one and the one below)
Groningen: Groningen
Gelderland: Arnhem
Noord-Brabant: Den Bosch a.k.a. 's-Hertogenbosch
Limburg: Maastricht

Drenthe: Assen
Friesland: Leeuwarden
