It is a fun little test that demonstrates the differing centers of gravity between a male and a female.

Place a chair against the wall and you stand in front of it with your feet shoulder length apart and firmly planted on the ground. You bend over - keeping your back as straight as possible - and put your head against the wall. Stand up while lifting the chair to your chest.

A male's center of gravity is around his waist area, thus lifting the chair in such a position will more than likely be difficult (Sort of like a top heavy thing...Ha). There are very few males who can do this successfully.

A female's center of gravity is around her hip area, causing her to be "anchored" down in a sense. Even so, there are a few girls who find this difficult. From what I have seen, it seems girls who are shorter tend have some difficulty.

What is the role of centre of gravity in deciding the stability of an object?

The center of gravity is the average location of weight of an object, meaning that a ball, for instance, will have a center of gravity in the cent of the ball. A persons center of gravity is generally around the hip area, you can test this by leaning to one side, when you begin to tip naturally that's because your center of gravity is leaning too far out over your support, or legs.

Is it possible to place a chair against a wall that a man cannot pick up?

no it is not possible for a man to pick up a chair if his head is up against against the wall. A mans upper body is usually more dense with bone and muscle mass than a women; thus raising a mans center of gravity towards his shoulders. A women usually has wider hips and leg muscles to center her gravity mid point rather than upper. When a man bends over he displaces his center of gravity 90 degrees out. When a women bends over it remains at the center of her waist. Thus keeping her center of gravity.
