I think it is about 1 in every 150 kids. however, it is more common in males, but i am not sure why.

It is FOUR times more likely in males, however Autism affects people of ALL racial, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

Luckily the amount of child with autism has gone down. It use to be 1 in 150 but, now it's 1 in 110. Not much of a difference but, it counts.

The Center of Disease Control's Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network reported that the rate of autism in 2000 was 6.7 per 1,000 or 1 in 150. It is estimated that there are up to 560,000 individuals from 0-21 years old with an autism spectrum disorder in the United States (Center for Disease Control, 2007).

There have not been any specific studies into the rate of autism/AS children of individuals with Asperger Syndrome. However, many studies into parents of autistic children have found that those parents are more likely to have autistic traits.

One case study report on a little girl with two Asperger's Syndrome parents can be found at the link below:

At 26 months, this girl was showing strong signs of autism but no overall developmental delay, suggesting that she, too, had Asperger Syndrome.

Fairly low; autism doesn't seem to be genetically connected. It is more probable that it is environmental factors, or that it is a variety of autoimmune disorders.

Autism cannot be cured - Autism is a neurological difference, not an illness to be cured.A person is born Autistic and remains Autistic their entire life, just as someone who is born Caucasian cannot be 'cured' of being Caucasian. Autism is a neurological difference, you cannot get rid of Autism in a person without changing their brain, which is simply not possible.
