The climax in the story is when the police offers actually eat the leg of lamb. It's not when Mary kills Patrick because that happens within the first two pages and there is a lot more to the story than that. When Mary kills Patrick would not be classified the climax it would be part of the rising action. This is the climax because that is when you know it's really the perfect murder and that Mary will get away with it.
