As an NYU Sophomore I currently Pay: $17,616.00 a Semester for Tuition, $6,425.00 a semester for hours and I also paid a $1,071.00 Service and registration fee for a total of $25,111.00 a semester or $50,222 a year for NYU. However I dorm on -campus (you can get your own apartment for cheaper in NYC) and I have a lot of NYU scholarships and other Financial Aid that help me a lot. But not everyone is as happy with their Financial aid as I am. Hope that helps.

I had the same question and found my answer here on this fafsa link: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/faq003.htm I also called a number off of the fafsa website and they told me only a drug conviction has an affect on financial aid eligibility.
