do the fishlips thing then put the blush where your cheeks are sucked in
Answer
Or, more specifically, look into the mirror, and suck your cheeks in so that the "apple" or the round bony part of your cheeks are the only things sticking out. Then, taking an application brush, dust it across the blush you wish to use and apply to your cheekbones in light, sweeping, circular motions. The important word here is lightly, because otherwise you will end up looking like a geisha, after which you will have to remove your makeup and try again.
You can also smile big and apply gently using an upward sweeping motion to just the round part of your cheek that stands out when you smile. This is a good technique for younger girls or someone looking for a more natural look.
Actually, she is wrong. You do not do circular motions when applying blush. I work with make up and what most people don't do is this:
When applying blush, take a light amount and start at the "apple" and brush towards your nose on your cheeck bone. This will give it a natural, beautiful look.
Try it. :]
Everyone needs to own loose powder and a big powder brush...if you accidentally apply a little too much blush, a lot of times you can recover by brushing a little loose powder over the blush. This won't work if you did the Raggedy Ann blush thing, but for just a little excess, this works well.
