∙ 16y agoA COMPUTER NAME BRAND? In communications a gateway is where a WAN connects to a LAN. The gateway is the address of the entry from your Network to that of you Internet provider. It is typically the addres sthat your router points to, not the address of the router itself which is your "Internal" Network addess. Simply Put the gateway is the address of your Internet Providers Router etc.
