A person who adopts an aesthetic approach to, say, designing a building will choose to include attractive lines and good looks in the finished building in addition to making it technically sound. As well as keeping out the cold and rain and keeping in the heat, etc., the building will have an appearance which is pleasing and worth "a second look".
