Migration is a regular movement of a population (all or part) from one area to another. Usually this is done to go from one seasonal range to another for things like food abundance, mating rituals, water abundance, etc. Good examples of migrating species are the salmon (which migrate back to their spawning grounds), and birds or ungulates (hoofed mammals) that travel with the season.
Sometimes people confuse migration with emigration; however, emigration doesn't always have the pattern for returning after a period (usually a season).
