A sedimentary rock is one that is formed by the accumulation of small to large sediment particles and undergoes compaction, cementation or evaporation from a saturated mineral solution. Sedimentary rock is classified as organic, (derived from organisms), clastic (formed from any size particle of pre-existing rock), or non-clastic (also referred to as chemical), where the sedimentary rock is formed from the evaporation of a solution that is saturated with mineral compounds. Examples of organic sedimentary rocks are coal and limestone. Examples of clastic sedimentary rocks are conglomerate and shale. Examples of non-clastic or chemical sedimentary rocks are rock gypsum and rock salt.
sedimentary rock is a rock formed when small pieces of rock ,or sedimt together.
A sedimentary rock is one made up of particles of minerals that have settled out of water or wind in layers that have been subsequently lithified. Think of mud settling at the bottom of a lake, this is a sedimentary deposit.
Sedimentary rock were deposited millions of years ago as strata (layers)
of loose material. They consist of materials that were once a part of older rocks or plants and animals.
Sedimentary rocks are lithified sediments, the origin of which may be from igneous, metamorphic, or other sedimentary rock, and in some cases chemical solutions or organic matter. Erosion and weathering of rock creates a range of rock particles from boulder sized to microscopic. These particles are transported by wind, water or landslide to a point of deposition or resting place. If these particles continue to be covered with additional layers of particles, the compression from the weight above, will, in time remove most of the water from the sediments. As the water is removed, cementing minerals, such as calcite or quartz, solidify from the remaining solution and fill in the gaps between the particles. The result is a lithified sediment, better known as sedimentary rock.
This is the definition of the sedimentary rock shale.
Detrital sedimentary rock Chemical sedimentary rock Biological sedimentary rock
Yes it is possible for a sedimentary rock to be changed into a different sedimentary rock.
a mushroom rock is not a sedimentary rock.
It is then sedimentary rock.
a rock that cAN CHANGE TO IGNEOUS, METAMORPHIC, AND SEDIMENTARY
This is the definition of the sedimentary rock shale.
A sedimentary rock composed mainly of calcium carbonate.
No. If a rock melts and then re-solidifies, then by definition the resulting rock is igneous.
ORGANIC SEDIMENTARY ROCK`s : Is a type of sedimentary rock because sedimentary rock has three types of sedimentary rock called clastic , chemical , and organic sedimentary rock so yes ORGANIC SEDIMENTARY ROCK is a type of sedimentary rock..........................................
Clastic sedimentary rock.
Detrital sedimentary rock Chemical sedimentary rock Biological sedimentary rock
Yes it is possible for a sedimentary rock to be changed into a different sedimentary rock.
When cemented together, clastic sedimentary rock.
a mushroom rock is not a sedimentary rock.
a mushroom rock is not a sedimentary rock.
Volcanic rock is igneous. This is because rock that forms fromt the cooling of molten material is the very definition of igneous rock.
