Acoustic energy is sound energy produced by vibrating objects. The definition of sound says that it is a disturbance of energy that comes through matter as a wave, and that humans perceive sound by the sense of hearing.

Sound pressure is the effect and sound power (energy) is the cause. But our eardrums are only sensitive to the sound pressure, and so are microphone diaphragms. Think of sound pressure level meters (SPL meters).

Sound is actually mechanical energy, and we have to apply force to generate sound. We can speak or yell, or we can pluck or strike the string of a musical instrument, just to name a couple of ways to generate sound. It takes some kind of energy to generate the force necessary to get sound to "begin" or "start" so that it can move. When we generate sound, energy must be put into something to make the sound, and then that something transfers some of the energy that was put into the medium through which the sound is going to travel.

There is also a type of energy that can be transmited through radio waves which allow it to travel through empty space without a medium.

Acoustic energy is sound energy.

So better ask: What is sound pressure?

You can just call it "sound energy". Or you can be more "scientific" and analyse it, and call it a mixture of kinetic energy and dynamic energy. The kinetic and dynamic energy are in a continuous exchange between them, since pressure waves cause the molecules in the air to increase and decrease their speed.
