When a doctor gives you a diagnosis it is their opinion. It is a decision based on their knowledge and information available to them at that moment. why in very serious health matters a doctor says to the patient they may want to seek out a second opinion from another doctor.

Opinions can be based on both real facts and mere beliefs.

Too often though people overstep their rights to their opinions and push it on an unsuspecting public as if they have privileged information no one has leveraging unsubstantiated claims based on nothing more than their opinion.

This has dangerous consequences and has proven it can lead to actions taken by that public that can hurt and even kill others.

That is why it is important that opinions and factual news reporting be clearly distinguished so to save others from imminent harm.
