∙ 11y agoBipolar Disorder 1 or 2 can not be diagnosed by any blood tests. A good family history is very important in the diagnosis, because this mental illness is can be inherited. The next important thing is the symptoms. There must be depressive or mania symptoms that alternate for at least 2 weeks at a time.It is important that you have a psychiatrist that realize it is important to make sure that no other diseases is involved. Therefore a EEG and brain scan is imperative.Bipolar 1 patients have psychotic symptoms!
