The inner core is surrounded by the outer core. The inner core is a solid, hot ball of metals and rocks with very high pressure. The outer core also has high pressure, but not enough to make it a solid. It is a liquid.

Typically the inner core is soft, hot and provides the energy or is the most important thing. The outer core is a hard, dence and protective layer to protect the inner core. If you can define of what i can give a better answer :)

They are both part of the core the outer core is just closer to the crust than the inner core, the inner core is actually the center of the Earth

What is the two difference between the inner core and the outer core of earth?

the two difference are that the inner core is solid and even though its very hot. the outer core are high temperatures

What is main difference between inner and outer core of earth?

The inner core is located below the outer core with a reasonably higher temperature. The outer core also contains elements such as liquid iron and nickel while the inner core has others. Sorry if I am not being giving a huge amount of details.

What is the layer between the inner core and the mantle called?

The outer core.

How are inner core and outer core different?

The inner and outer core are different because of the difference in vertical stress within the Earth. As the confining pressure increases it drives up the melting temperature of materials (in this case iron and nickel). The boundary between the outer and inner core marks the point where the confining pressure is so high that it drives the melting temperature of the core material above the temperature within the core. As such it is no longer hot enough to melt the iron / nickel mixture and it solidifies.

Identify one similarity and one difference between the inner core and outer core?

The inner core is solid. The outer core is liquid. It may seem odd that the hotter, inner core is solid while the outer core is liquid magma, but in the inner core you have the entire pressure of the earth pushing down on you.The outer core is hot, molten iron and nickel under extreme pressure. Convection currents cause movements in the liquid outer core. Scientists hypothesize that these movements cause Earth's magnetic field. The outer core surrounds the inner core, which occupies the center of Earth. The inner core is also iron and nickel and is also extremely hot. But pressure within the inner core is so great that it remains a solid.

How does the composition of the inner and outer core explain this theory?

Dynamo theory is the idea that a magnetic field generator exists within the Earth's outer core. It is this generator that explains the difference between the inner and outer core.
