What is the difference between GTA IV and GTA IV Complete Edition?

Although the games are exactly the same, the special edition comes with:

• A metal safety deposit box
• A Rockstar keychain (for the safety deposit box keys)
• A Rockstar duffel bag
• Production artwork ("Grand Theft Auto IV Art Book")
• Game soundtrack
• A box containing the above, and
• ** Xbox 360 version: illustration of the main character, Niko Bellic, on the cardboard sleeve.
  • PlayStation 3 version: illustration of Lola on the cardboard box sleeve.

There is absolutely NO difference between the 2 editions. There was a time, a very brief and very limited time, where you would receive a token with a code on it to redeem for the Variety Map Pack, but it no longer exists and you have to pay for the Map Pack now through both Xbox 360 and PS3 if you want it. If playing on PC, you do not have to pay for it, due to the fact it was sponsored by Nvidia. The only main difference is a fancy looking Game Of The Year Edition stamp on the package.

For the PC version there IS a difference in the service pack level for the game release which will impact online game server connections. You CANNOT connect COD4 Game-Of-The-Year Edition to online game servers that are using an earlier PATCH version than the Game-Of-The-Year Edition (ver. 6.7). COD4 original version starts at service pack 1.0 and you can connect to 1.0 online Game Servers, or any other servers as long as you are patched up to that same level of the game server.

So if you are using a PC and your buddy has COD4 and you have the COD4 Game-Of-The-Year Edition, your buddy will have to patch up to 6.7 before the two of you can connect and play head-to-head. I have both PC versions of this game and that's what it takes to play them on the same game server.

The full name of Call of Duty 4 is Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare. Nintendo DS has a Call of Duty Modern Warfare Mobilized that came out as a separate diffident game from MW2 and was released when Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) was released in November 2009. There was also a Nintendo Wii game released when MW2 was that was Called Call of Duty Modern Warfare Reflex Edition and is different from both MW2 and COD 4 and was developed by Treyarch and not Infinity Ward who did many of the Modern Warfare series games. There was never a Call of Duty Modern Warefare game which appears to be a spelling error
