What is the difference between Democrats and Republicans? |
[Edit] |
Answer
Often abused to describe them would be that Democrats are Liberals and Republicans are Conservatives.
An extension of this would imply that Democrats are Socialists or Communists, and therefore heathens. A further extension would imply that Republicans are Fascist, Nazi's and therefore pure and christian. It makes absolutely no sense. They are simply political parties. Some of their champions are noble, some aren't. Some proclaim fiscal conservatism, build up debt and pass it on to future generations, Some add social programs that must be paid for and attempt fiscal engineering to pay for it. Both groups want power and attack the other with terms like "tax and spend liberals" and "warmongers and corporate lacky's".
Exageration and exploitation on both sides is both common, crass and un-American.
