∙ 13y agoI typically buy them for about 50 cents a pound in five pound bags. The price fluctuates as of this year 2010, between $1.99 and $3.99 a 5 lb. bag in central Texas. They are usually cheaper in 10 or 20 pound bags, and I am sure they are cheaper in Idaho.

∙ 14y agoRussett potatoes are starchy, making them great for mashed or baked potatoes. Red potatoes are less starchy and are used for salads, they do not get muschy.
