The difference is that the Core 2 DUO E7500 Is much faster and is dual cored. Single core are slower and very harder to operate. Dual core and higher is MUCH faster and easier to operate in computers. Although, they are a little more expensive.
The only difference anybody's been able to figure is that the T6400 has 2 MB of L2 cache and the T4200 has 1 MB. They are both 800 Mhz bus speed and 45 nm. Honestly you wouldn't notice much if any difference between the two in most real life applications. Save you money on the up grade from and buy a faster hard drive or more ram.
All the benchmarks I've seen don't give either CPU much advantage over the T3200. T5800 or T7300 for that matter either. Don't confuse these processors with the desktop processors without the T when doing your research.
* I don't think this subject is as simple as it is described here! For starters core2duo has 2 cores ( like the name implies), and it supports virtualization .There is a considerable range of different models of core2duo and the FSB speed varies from 533 MHz to 1066 MHz and (wait there is more) also the L2 cache ranges from 2MB to 3MB to 6 MB.
The T4200 is a Pentium Dual-Core processor, and has only 1 MB of L2 cache. The T6400 is a Core 2 Duo and has 2 MB of L2 cache.
the 6600 is way faster with a larger l2 cache
a Processo, inter core 2 due
The model t6400 refers to an Intel Core Duo Processor. This processor is used to help computers run faster and also do more programs at once. This can be purchased through the Intel website.
Yesi have a Samsung r522 NB with T6400 an Ati hd4650 and it works
The T8400.
i found out that it can be used like that but, it depends on what your running example I have this old game called fighters Anthology I used to have destop ran at 2.8ghz or 2,800mhz when I played my game on this P4 single CPU it ran at 2,548mhz or 91% when I played on my HP laptop Dv7 T6400 just like yours I got differnt look at it winows says my game runs at 60% of the total cpu power of T6400 of 4Ghz 60% is 2,400 but split 1200 each NOW BF3 plays at 98% of T6400 or 3,9GHZ of 4GHZ
Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 is better. Look at the numbers, when newer versions come out, the numbers get higher. T6600 is running 2.2ghz, while the other one is running only 2.0 ghz. You are winning by .2 ghz, which is somewhat of a lot in computer terms. I recommend the T6600, unless the price of the T6600 is 15% more than the T6400. You will be able to run a lot more applications with the T6600.
This laptop computer weighs-in at just about 15 lbs. The Sony VGN-CS220J/W VAIO 14.1 in. 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 Laptop weighs nine pounds.
Under normal circumstances the Sony VGN-CS260J/R VAIO 14.1 in. 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 Laptop's battery will last about 5 hours on one charge.
The exact specs are hard to come by, but suffice to say they're loud enough to hear downstairs from my bedroom with the door shut.
