'Sociology' is related to 'mind', 'spiritual', 'understanding', 'rationality', ..

In short, 'sociology' is a product of the Enlightement notion 'pure reason' of Immanuel Kant, using the logic 'rationality', designed by the catholic priest Rene Descartes.

'Common Sense' is related to 'behavior', a thoroughly in millions of years tested product of the firm 'Evolution Inc'

'Sociology' relates to 'Common Sense' as Very, very young 'Idea' to very, very proven 'behavior'. Or as immaterial 'hypothesis' to material 'behavior'.

'Sociology' (all of Social Science) replaced common sense with 'rational' analysis

A common sense explanation of human society is that it is an individuals personal opinion on a given situation. For example most people put on weight at Christmas time. On the other hand a sociological explanation of human society would look at many different aspects influencing this behaviour.

Another common sense explanation of human society is that it isn't fact it is based on an individuals logic on a situation. The sociological explanation of human society has been proven with scientific evidence that supports their claim.
