I suppose one way is that one could have spirituality without religion, but one could not have religion without spirituality.
Religion is for people who don't want to go to Hell;
Spirituality is for people who have already been there.
If it helps, all the following are religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Wicca, Eckankar, Raëlism, Zoroastrianism, New Age, Unitarian Universalism, Jainism, Shinto, LaVeyan Satanism, Scientology, Taoism, Yoruba, Druidry, paganism, Juche, Cao Dai. Take a pick
There is no clear consensus about what the difference is between religion and spirituality.
In general though, religion refers to a more organized practice, with some sort of human institution, whereas spirituality refers to a more personal experience, which may or may not fit within an organized religion. People usually do not refer to "religion" or a person being "religious" in isolation...even if a person is privately "religious", this term references some sort of larger organization with its own set of beliefs and practices.
Both religion, and spirituality, can involve belief in a deity, spiritual or mystical experiences, rituals, as well as value systems and beliefs about morality and ethics, and an understanding of how the world works. These things alone are not necessarily religious or spiritual; they can be both.
religion is all about faith and following a deity
and whom ever your deity would be..........
spirituality is about your heart soul the earth and things like that
spirituality is more about you and what you think is true
religion is based on belief. You are told and you believe. Spirituality is an objective questioning of life and beliefs and a direct experience of truth
religion and spirituality
The difference between religion and spirituality is: "This is what you tell me to believe," and "This what I believe." Religion is the standard written doctrine of a group. Spirituality is the personal belief of the individual. In general it is based on traditions and lifestyle, but personal perspective colors all aspects of the traditions giving particular relevance to one individual, but not to another.
spirituality and peace of mind.
Spirituality is the way you approach God or whomever you worship. Religion is the outward manifestation of what you believe, including use of specific symbols and rituals. Spirituality is more inward. As an example, the Pharisees had religion but they had very little spirituality. They had added so much to the law that it was impossible to meet the standards. They had lost the intent God wanted for the Israelities to be given the law, to be close to Him. Instead they had distanced themselves from God by their traditons and rules.
Hi, religion is that groups people around some Holly scripture. While spirituality means you are simply trying to go over atheist level. It means you are searching for something spiritual and you probably thinking about something higher, but you don't consider yourself member of any particular religion yet.
There is no difference. Islam is a religion.
The difference between religion and philosophy is that religion gives unwarranted answers while philosophy asks questions.
Truth and Nature bind both religion and spirituality. Although religion and spirituality can be consider to start at the same beginning, they parted mid-way and end at different destinations.
There are no rituals in spirituality. Rituals are connected mostly to cultures and religions. They are based on mythology, on fairy tales. All religions have their own rituals, superstitions, dogmas, and fairy tales, and they advocate them. Unfortunately, they are like a kindergarten that teach children folklore and folktales. Spirituality is a university, we have to graduate beyond religion. Spirituality is not another religion, it is an advanced study, an understanding of who we are, of what God is. Spirituality leads us to self-realization and God-realization. Therefore, there is no connection between rituals and spirituality, except that rituals are part of religion which is a kindergarten of which spirituality is the university.
Spirituality and meditation are not considered science. They are considered to be alternative medicine or sometimes, religion. One can get an MBA in religion or philosophy, but not in only spirituality and meditation.
