∙ 11y agoThere are so many differences between the two it would be easier to answer "what are the similarities". Marijuana is not a toxic plant, but tobacco on the other hand is already toxic before the processing adds even more toxins to it. The biggest difference: tobacco CAUSES cancer, marijuana CURES cancer.

The word "hemp" is English for a amount of mixtures of the cannabis plant, mainly the varieties like "industrial hemp" that were bred over time for industrial uses such as fuel, fiber, paper, seed, food, oil, etc.
Marijuana:
The term "marijuana" is of Spanish origin, and was mainly used to explain varieties of cannabis that were more generally bred over time for medicinal and frivolous purposes, like cannabis indica , and definite strains of cannabis sativa.
