What is the difference between a Macintosh and a PC?In: Windows, Apple and Mac |
[Edit] |
Answer
Macintosh computers ('Macs') are made by Apple, Inc., and run an operating system called Mac OS X, which is widely regarded by technology experts as the most advanced and most secure consumer operating system in the world. The latest version of Mac OS X is version 10.5 'Leopard'.
Apple is also the only consumer computer company in the world that designs both the hardware and the software that runs on it.
All new models of Macs introduced since 2006 run on Intel processors, and are also capable of running Windows in addition to Mac OS X.
PCs usually run MS Windows but can run other operating systems such as Linux, even though there is Linux for PowerPC Macs and Intel Macs.
