What is the difference between a Mullah and an Imam?

An Imam is a member of the clergy, equivalent to a gabbai or a cantor in Church services. A Mullah is a leader on a grander scale (the best known example being Mullah Muhamad Umar, formerly the dictator of the Taliban in Afghanistan).
