A HAMSTER dose not have much of a tail and are very small, rats are fairly large and have tails and have a craving for cheese. but there is not much diffrents they are from the same chain.

Well i study animals at my secondary school with my two friends and we have taken a hamster and a gerbil and experimented with different things. The hamster may have a tail but only a small one. A gerbils tail is long and thin like a worm. A hamster has flat legs and can scurry fast where as a gerbil has legs like a kangaroo and hops more than scurry's. We also released a pack of dwarf hamsters and a pack of ordinary American gerbils brought up in England in their own special area at Marwell and Longleat zoo's. They where both done with the equel amount of care but it seems that the Hamsters more liked to be left on their own although they did not bite where as the gerbils did bite but mabye that was because all the kids holding it dropped them and they lost trust in humnas so we releasd them with tags. 5 out of 5 returned from their treck for a week.

although a hamster is also a rodent you can still have them as pets and rats to and rats have long tails but hamsters have a short tails

as far as i knowrabbits are big in size and r not a rat family . hamsters are small and r species of the rat familiarities usually live up to 12 years depending on their size's hamster lives only up to 3 to 4 years

well a squirrel has a big puffy tail and a hamster has a tail (depending on which type you get)
