Method is more related to the therory aspect of teaching.A method contains a particular view about teaching in which there are no contradictions. On the other hand an approach is more related to practical teaching. An approach may use more than one method while teaching.
For educators, these 4 terms have very specific meanings.
Teaching Method = a step-by-step formula for presenting material, which teachers must follow exactly. If the teacher deviates from the prescribed Method in any way, they cannot claim to be using that Method. (Total Physical Response, Direct Method, Grammar Translation, etc.) Berlitz schools follow a specific Method, and won't permit a teacher to use other resources.
Approach = a teacher's personal style or philosophy about how to best present the material. A teacher's approach may vary considerably depending on the needs or competency of the class. (Communicative, natural, task-based, vocational, etc.)
Technique = a hands-on teaching tool or activity that teachers can put into practice right away. (PPP, how to handle corrections, information gap, jigsaw, etc)
Strategies = Tips and tricks to make learning easier that teachers can demonstrate in the classroom & that students can take away with them. (Reading while listening to the audio recording, Mnemonic Devices, games, etc.)
When cooking Italian food, a recipe would be your Method, vegetarian would be your Approach, boiling or roasting would be your Technique, and ordering take-out instead would be your Strategy. :)
A technique is a specific way to perform a task; whereas, a strategy is a more general approach. By way of example:
Using flashcards to teach multiplication tables = technique
Using repetition to internalize/memorize information = strategy
A teaching principle is an idea of how something should be taught. A teaching approach is a way something is taught. The approach is the application of the principle.

The reader-response approach presupposes the integration of a literary text with various teaching strategies. This approach emphasizes the role of the reader in interpreting and making sense of the text, encouraging students to engage actively with the material through activities such as discussions, creative writing, and reflection. By incorporating different teaching strategies, educators can help students develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of literature.
Isomers are similar in that they have the same molecular formula, but there are also differences because their structural formulae are different. The type and degree of the differences in behaviour depends on which sort of isomerism it is.
There are several teaching strategies used for teaching Filipino children. One strategy is to build a trusting relationship with the students.
An Imaginative Approach to Teaching was created in 2005.
