What is the difference between a mega pixel camera and VGA camera?

In: Cameras
[Edit]

The resolution of VGA is 640X480 pixels..
640X480 = 307200 = 0.3 Millions
hence VGA camera is a 0.3 Mega Pixel camera..
when resolution is such that the no. of pixels is more than 1 million, we call it a Mega Pixel camera where the no. of Mega pixels e.g. 5.3 is the no. of pixel in millions.. This is an approximate value.. i.e. 5.3 MP is not exactly 5300000 pixels
