Answer 1:All elements are not pure substances yet all pure substances are single elements. I believe a mixture can be made up of more than one "pure substance" However,a mixture's individual properties retain their original forms and no new chemical if formed as result of the combining. Also, a mixture's properties can not be physically separated, whereas a pure substance may require electricity or heat. Answer 2:A pure substance is made up of the same kind of atoms or molecules but a mixture consists of 2 or more pure substances. Furthermore, mixtures do not have exact properties as their compositions can vary but pure substances have fixed properties. For example... a mixture may change it's state over a range of temperatures but a pure substance will only change it's state at a fixed point (like melting points & boiling points.) Answer 3:A mixture can be separated through physical means. Each ingredient in a mixture maintains its own chemical identity..
