What is the difference between a yeast infection and a bladder infection? |
Actually, the difference between them is that one is caused by Candida which is a yeast that lives in the body, usually in the background and then overgrows to cause yeast infections such as thrush, whilst bladder infections are caused by bacteria. Yeast infections ARE NOT caused by bad hygiene OR by intercouse, and the only bladder infection which CAN be caused by intercourse is Cystitis. It is said that cranberry juice can help prevent Cystitis although there is currently no scientific or medical proof. I hope this help clarify. If you get a yeast or bladder infection, please don't be embarrassed, it DOES NOT mean you are dirty or have poor sexual habits.
