What is the difference between batch processing and interactive processing?

Batch processing is a large scale of processing done in set batches, this is normally overnight. For instance processing a mass amount of orders of the same product or gathering together member information together and processing it all at the same time.

Where as Interactive processing is data that is entered by a user and is processed straight away ( Dont get confused with real time) for example entering information into a query in a database or information into a word proccesor
