What is the difference between black box testing and aircraft black box?

There is a huge difference between the two. An aircraft black box is a method used to record information about the plane and radio transmissions. It is used whenever there is an incident to retrieve information to provide clues to what happened. Black box testing uses the process of abstraction to test a system. For example, if I develop a system which takes a number and returns its square I can test it by passing it a value and see if the square returned is correct. I do not need to know the specifics of the function (that it is doing num1*num1) just that they returned square is correct.
