In the United States, the manner of death falls into one of five categories: 1) Homicide, 2) Suicide, 3) Accidental, 4) Natural causes, or 5) Undetermined.
The cause of death refers to what specifically killed the person (drowning, overdose, car crash, struck by lightning, etc)
