Density is mass/(volume) while weigh is mass/(gravity).

Examlpe: A ton of iron and a ton of straw weigh the same (a ton) but take up different amounts of space due to different densities.

Weight is a measure of the force of gravity, while density is the measure of mass. Density is essentially how much mass is crammed into a space. Imagine holding a pencil, now imagine holding a pencil as heavy as a car. The two pencils are the same size and dimensions, but the second is obviously more dense.

Distinguish between mass density and weight density?

The difference is that the mass density not effect by gravity but weight density effect by gravity. for example if mass density cotn in earth equal to 20 kg/m3 and weight density equal to 196.2 N/m3 this cotn will change the weight density in the moon but mass density not change because gravity moon diffrent to gravity earth mass density =mass/volume (no gravity) weight density= (mass * gravity)/volume (gravity)

What the difference between density and concentration?

Density is the weight per volume of a solution, while the concentration is the amount of particles/molarity per volume.

What is difference between brass and bronze?

The biggest difference between bronze and brass is the density, mass, and weight. Bronze and brass are also made of different metals.

What is the difference between surface and density?

You cannot use surface area to calculate density. Density is a calculation comparing TOTAL area and weight of an object. In short you must use the total volume of the object when calculating the density.

What is the relationship between grativy weight and density?

weight = gravity times massand weight = density times volume

What is the differnce between density and specific gravity?

density is like weight and gravity is what pulls you to the ground density is what determines weight

What is the difference between specific gravity and density?

Relative density, or specific gravity, is the ratio of the density (mass of a unit volume) of a substance to the density of a given reference material. Specific gravity usually means relative density with respect to water.

What is difference between density in air and density in vacuum?

subtract 0.0011 from the density in vac to get density in air.

What difference between density in air and density in vacuum?

What are the relationships between weight and density?

Given an unchanging volume, if you lower the density you will lower the weight, and the revers is true.if you lower the weight the the density would lower as well. This applies to any gravitational field if you are measuring density as a function of weight per volume.
