First of all, LCD and LED are used in the same TVs. It's just that the LCD screen is LED backlit. So the true name is LCD/LED-backlit TV. The LCD (liquid crystal display) uses tiny gel-like crystals positioned in front of a light source, most commonly the LEDs. Changing the shape of the crystal changes the colour it produces.
Plasma on the other hand, works sort of like the old CRT technology. Tiny cells held between two panels of glass hold a mixture of noble gases (gases which don't react to other gases). Electrifying the gases turns it into plasma which emit UV light to excite phosphors which in turn emit visible light. Different UV wavelengths would produce different colours.
On a final note, plasma is considered a "failed technology". It works but it had many problems such as overheating. Should you be looking to buy a TV, go LCD.

lcds are very simple it is like the normal but just flatter and a bit sharper.
leds are the best with flattest range of TVs and sharpest .it has 7.1 channel surround sound system.

We prefer LCD. We have two and they are great. LCD is the only way to go Plasma TVs are better for viewing rooms where you can control the lighting. If glare is an issue then go for an LCD

there are 3 different kinds of HD TV's: LCD, Plasma, and DLP. LCD's are best value for the smaller HD's (like under 42"), Plasma is best for like 42 - 56", and DLP is best for anything really big. They are all capable of 720p and 1080p. The only hidden cost is the extra cost you have to pay to your cable company to get HD programming. Of course you can still get regular crappy old programming on it for no extra cost, and you can get HD programming over the air for free, but depending on where you live, there'll probably only be a few channels and it will be stuff like ABC, NBC, you know, the typical over-the-air programming.
