MScontin is time released Morphine sulfate (12 hours) at different doses available. Oxycontin is time released oxycodone example of Oxycodone is percocet/with tylenol. Oxycontin also has nothing added to it such as Tylenol. Oxycontin is just oxycodone in a 12hr release formula and made at different doses.

∙ 15y agoMorphine is derived from opium, and is not synthetic. Herion is derived from morphine. Oxycontin is a synthetic opiate that is extremely potent. Oxy=Oxycodone Contin=Continuous release. OC's are a time released drug. Oxycontin is stronger than mophine in a mg to mg comparison.

∙ 11y agoOxyContin is the controlled (timed) release version of Oxycodone which lasts anywhere from 7-12 hours depending on the patient. Regular Oxycodone tablets typically only last 4-6 hours for most patients.
MS Contin is the controlled release version of Morphine Sulfate (Morphine), typically taken as a 30mg dose.
