Methadone is a synthetic opiod used to treat people who are addicted to opiates and is also used for pain management in some cases. Oxycodone is a narcotic used to treat to treat pain only.
The reason Methadone is used to treat addiction is because of its long half life.
Methadone, commonly reffered to as "liquid handcuffs" is much worse than oxycontin. It has a much longer half life than oxy and it is stored in your bones. Basically people have a Hell of a time getting off oxy but methadone is on another level. Because methadone is stored in your bones, it eats away at them. Stay far away from methadone, find another long acting medication for pain and if u were toying with the notion of going into a methadone program to wrench yourself off of opiates, I would look into some other options.
Same withdraw symptoms such as hot/cold sweats, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and muscle aches and spasms. The difference is the methadone withdraws are 10 times worse and last weeks to months longer depending on how much is built up in your system. Be careful with either withdraw though cause they are serious and sudden stopping could be fatal.
Any Opiate withdraw can be fatal when you've been taking large amounts for a long time, I've seen reports of people dieing from Codeine. So if you've been taking large amounts for a while of any Opiate, do not go cold turkey, always seek help from a doctor or do a taper (take less ever 3 days, until you are taking almost nothing at all, as in a 1/12 of a pill or less.
No, it really just takes the edge off of being on Oxy for awhile, it helps but doesn't kill the spike in pain you might have.
That's a tough one! I would say the Oxy's but it probably depends on how lond a person has been taking each of the drugs.
Oxycodone for sure
Methadone is an synthetic opiate.
10mg of methadone is equal to 80 mg of oxycontin
Yes, methadone is used to treat withdrawals from Oxycontin and other opiate drugs.
YES Oxycontin shows up as opiates on a drug test and methadone shows up as methadone. Methadone is a synthetic opiate that is why it shows up different than Oxycontin.
No it shows as methadone ! Have to give special test for it
No, Oxycontin will show up as an opiate and methadone will only show up as methadone because it requires a specific test used to detect it.
Methadone makes Oxycontin WAY stronger when combined. I DO NOT recommend doing this. Better to save the methadone till the next day. They help with your hangover since they are for Oxycontin addicts going through with drawls.
Oxycontin and Heroin withdrawals are very similar..........Opiates are opiates...Your question works in theory, but not in real life....The only way that is possible to beat the Oxycontin the way you describe is to use Methadone for 3 to 4 days after stopping the Oxycontin............No more. Do not become addicted to Methadone, it is ten times worse than Heroin or Oxycontin withdrawals when you quit
Yes, depending on how high of a methadone dose you are on. Methadone will clog your opioid receptors and make it hard for any other opiate to act in your brain. Usually, any dose higher than 40mg's will block other opiates.
No, Methadone will only show up as methadone because it requires its own test to detect it.
