What is the difference between pci express agp pci and sli video cards? In: Graphics Cards |
[Edit] |
PCI- E, AGP and PCI are the different slots on your motherboard that the graphics card can go into, and different GPUs fit in one of these slots. PCI - E is the fastest port at the moment, so AGP and PCI video cards are declining. All computers have quite a few PCI ports but most modern motherboards have PCI - E ports and not AGP. If you are buying a GPU, you will need to check what ports your motherboard has, so you know it is compatible. SLI is nVidia's dual graphics card system, and only selected motherboards support this. An SLI compatible video card can be used together with another SLI compatible video card in an SLI compatible motherboard.
