Sherbet is basically a drink for hot climate which has been given to people as a part of welcome in someone's home. The origin of this word is Before Christ.

Sorbet is english word which has evolved in recent history.

Sherbet in the contemporary United States refers to a frozen dessert with between 1% and 2% fat from added milk or eggs. Sorbet generally is a frozen dessert with no added fat. As a result, it is grainier or icier than sherbet.
