What is the difference between the HP DVD840 sold at Walmart and the HP DVD940e sold at Compusa?

These units differ only slightly in their transfer speeds as the faster 840 models use CAV and Z-CLV.
The DVD940e is an external version of the DVD640 and has the same buffer sizes, USB and or IDE speeds of the similar 840 internal IDE and external USB models.

There should be no other difference.
