The Marine training of World War 2 is the same as the training of today except now we have more modern armament and computerized equipment the Marine recruits have to learn about now. It has always been the toughest boot camp of all the military forces and all Marines, even nurses, have to have basic weapons training, even in World War 2.
There is a world of difference as far as training and how things are run. The Marines are more specialized for combat. All Marines regardless of occupation receive infantry training. If you want an exact answer, you should call a recruiter. They could probably give you an awesome answer to this question.Taken from Yahoo Answers:The Army has a very different function than the Marines, and a wider mission during wartime. The first difference is between the missions of the respective forces. The Marines are a relatively small branch of the Navy. Their mission is primarily to conduct initial combat operations and establish a small foothold from which they can operate until larger forces arrive. The Army's mission is much bigger. Along with establishing a foothold, they also expand the foothold into entire theaters of operations. The Marines and the Army fight battles.
The Marine Corps had six divisions and 5 air wings when it was at itslargest in WW-2 and all saw active combat.

Some combat experience, so Japan could fight the next war (Russia in 1904).
To base this answer off an objective metric, such as funding, manpower and defined minimum capabilities, the Marine Corps of the United States would hold the title. No other nation maintains a 'force in readiness' by forward deploying a rapid response force in such size and capability within the spectrum of combat. Funding allocated for equipment, training and welfare are second to none. The United States also maintains the largest standing Marine Corps, with over 180,000 active duty Marines.
Very hard. Some days you only get like 4 hours of sleep. Weapons training, tactical drills, field demo's for live combat...etc.
Most Field Manuals are considered to be acceptable leisure reading material.
Both receive excellent training. Marine training is considered to be more intense and lasts longer. Even Marine pilots receive training in the Basic school for six months to insure that every Marine is first off, a Rifleman.
Yes. All enlisted Marines must complete boot-camp and either school of infantry or Marine combat training, regardless of previous service in another branch.
Boot camp is a training campus for members of the military when they first join, where they go to train and qualify for service. A combat boot is a type of footwear... a shoe in style that reflects what some members of the military have worn in combat situations.
