A Diaphragm is a muscular, membranous or ligamentous wall separating two cavities or limiting a cavity.

A Placenta is the part of the ovary of flowering plants that bears the ovules.

The placenta and the diaphragm are two very different things.

The placenta is found only in pregnant women. It attaches the unborn baby to its mother while it's in the uterus. The placenta comes out along with the baby at birth.

The diaphragm is a muscle beneath the lungs that is curved upwards when it's at rest. When a person breathes in, the muscle contracts, flattening out and increasing the volume of the chest cavity. This allows the person to take a bigger breath.
