it is quite simple actually when you do a barrell roll all the ansewers will come to you
but basically one is knitted one woven?
my mum says it is interlaced differently
but i susgest you do a barrell roll if that doesnt help

knit: formation of fabric by interlooping yarns using needles to form loops.
weave: warp and weft yarns passing over and under one an other
