The directness of the sun's rays MAKE the seasons. The earth is tilted so the sun's rays don't shine there light as directly on the side tilted farther away from it than they do to the other side. So when the the sun shines and the Northern hemp. is tilted toward it the Northern hemp. has summer and the Southern Hemp. has winter.
