The most commonly identified difference is that eukaryotic cells are nucleated, prokaryotic cells are not.

Most eukaryotic cells have only one nucleus, but some have more. Some species of a fungus called slime molds are known to have several thousand nuclei in one cell.

However the more general difference is that eukaryotic cells contain organelles (e.g. mitochondria, chloroplasts, nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus) and prokaryotic cells don't. These are believed to have originated as symbiotic microorganisms that entered the cells of the ancestors of early eukaryotes and took up permanent residence.

The difference between prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells is that prokaryotic cells do not have membrane- bound organelles. They also do not have an enclosed nucleus with their DNA. Eukaryotic cells however do have membrane bound organelles along with an enclosed nucleus. They are also larger in size then prokaryotes.

Prokaryotic cells have a cell wall, Eukaryotic cells do not. Eukaryotic cells are much larger an are in fact more complex then Prokaryotic cells. Eukaryotic cells have a true nucleus bound by a doubled membrane. Prokaryotic cells have no nucleus.

What is the difference between something eukaryotic and something prokaryotic?

There are quite a few differences between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus, while eukaryotic cells do. Prokaryotic cells are not found in humans while eukaryotic cells are. Prokaryotic cells are primitive while eukaryotic cells are much more evolved.

What are the primary differences between prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells?

The main primary difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells is that the prokaryotic cells don't contain a nucleus. The eukaryotic cells are also larger than the prokaryotic cells.

What is the difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells?

The difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell is eukaryotic cell is inside of people, plants, and animals. The prokaryotic is a bacteria cellStudy Island: Prokaryotic cells do not have a true nucleus or membrane-bound organelles.

What represents a major difference between prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells?

The most obvious difference is that a eukaryotic cell contains a nucleus and a prokaryotic cell does not. Another difference is the complexity of prokaryotic vs eukaryotic cells. In general, eukaryotic cells are bigger and much more complex than prokaryotic cells.

The main difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells is that?

eukaryotic cells have a nucleus that holds their DNA. Prokaryotic cells have no nucleus and their DNA floats around the cell. Eukaryotic cells generally have a lot more DNA than prokaryotic cells because prokaryotic cells are a lot less complicated than their counterpart.
