they can have 250mg. 3x a day. My son is also 45lbs and was just given this dosage for strep throat. I was also looking it up to make sure it was correct. I found that it was per the website on the Related Link below.

I thought the suspension concentration available fox Amoxicilline were 125 and 250 mg/5ml ... I don't know how you can end up with 400 mg and 5 ml.
