Have you ever heard that saying “consistency is the key”. Well my friends thats true. Thats the harsh truth you have to accept in order for you to reach your goals.

Diet its the most important aspect of weight loss. Yes, exercise helps in burning off some extra calories or building muscle mass whitch increses BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) , and that means that your body will burn more calories just to function normally. But “abs are made in the kitchen”. Theres debate on whether diet is 90% or 80% and the rest is exercise. So I am mostly going to focus on the diet part because thats the hardest part for everybody.

These actions will be pretty simple and basic so everybody can aply them to their daily rotine. but yet very effective.

1.Dont eat sugar-sweetened foods and or drinks

Added sugar is very unhealthy.Studies show that it has uniquely harmful effects on metabolic health.Sugar is half glucose, half fructose, and fructose can only be metabolized by the liver in significant amounts When you eat a lot of added sugar, the liver gets overloaded with fructose and is forced to turn it into fat. Numerous studies have shown that excess sugar, mostly due to the large amounts of fructose , can lead to increased accumulation of fat in the belly and liver .

2.Eat more protein rich foods

Eating more protein especially when you are dieting is essential. Most official nutrition organizations recommend a fairly modest **protein intake**. The DRI (Dietary Reference **Intake**) is 0.8 grams of **protein** per kilogram of body weight, or 0.36 grams per pound. When we are dieting we are usually eating less calories than our maintenance calories. This means that our body is using our stored fat , glucose and some cases even muscle to produce energy. But losing muscle mass is not a good thing , and to reduce the likelyhood of that happening we have to up our protein intake.

3. Eat foods rich in fiber, especially viscous fiber

Foods rich in fiber usually have lots of nutritional value in them. They also have the abillity to fill you up , whitch is key to lowering your calories. Staying full for longer comes from eating fibrous foods and thats what we want so we can stick to our diet because you now what we said, constistency is the key.

4.Portion your meals

I bet you have heard about tracking your food and counting calories. Yes thats a very popular method people use to get in shape. I have tried that method my self and to be honest it was very effective. I was able to sustain 1.5 months. Eventho that method works its not efficent at all. It is time consuming and not convinient at all. That requires weighing every food you eat, calculating clories and taking note of every bite. That wasnt for me, so i decided to look for another way and i found one. Dividing your plate in 3 parts. Half of your plate should consist of vegetables or fruits, one quarter should consist of whole grains like brown rice, white rice , patatoes, pasta,quinoa etc and the other quarter, should consist of lean protein like beef , chicken , fish , tofu. Thas so simple and super effective.

5.Exercise daily

You don't need to exercise to lose weight on this plan, but it is recommended.

The best option is to go to the gym 3–4 times a week. Do a warm-up and lift some weights.If you're new to the gym, ask a trainer for some advice.By lifting weights, you will burn lots of calories and prevent your metabolism from slowing down, which is a common side effect of losing weight . If lifting weights is not an option for you, then doing some cardio workouts like walking, jogging, running, cycling or swimming will suffice.

Those that say it’s unhealthy to try ketogenic seem to be promoting the current western diet that gives you a 1–3 chance of either high blood pressure, obesity or diabetes. So I think we can assume that the ‘normal’ way to eat is actually not that healthy! Anyway I digress…
