Try to find chewable pills or liquid medicine as much as possible. For some things, there are no alternative to big pills, so try to relax before taking them and place them near the back of your tongue in the middle, then swallow them with a mouthful of water.
If your difficulty is vitamins, you are in luck. You can find great tasting alternatives in vitamins. I went to a GNC store today and bought Flinstone's vitamins Complete for my multivitamin and ActivCal for my calcium supplement. The Flinstones taste kind of like sweettarts and the ActivCal tastes just like caramel. These two together provide me with all the vitamins I'll need as an adult without the hassle and stress of taking a big pill.

∙ 13y agoPut it on your tongue as far in as you can and sip some water or juice to wash it down when you swallow it. Make sure you have what to drink next to you before you put the pill on your tongue.

∙ 14y agoThe simplest way is to simply tilt your head back and take a sip of water, then swallow. Never swallow with your head down; it is very hard to swallow and you could choke on the medicine. I just want to say- whoever posted this obviously does NOT know what they are talking about. I am a nurse, and it not only is easier to swallow a pill with a drink tilting your head FORWARD toward your chest-- it has been reccomended by several Doctors to their patients to try this method-- it opens up your esophagus and allows more room for pill to go down with ease. So by all means--tilt your chin to your chest and get that pill down!!

∙ 14y agoThe easiest way to swallow a pill would be with some water. drink the water as you normally do and don't forget to swallow the pill along with it. Or you can hold your head back and concentrate. The easiest way is with water.
