Belarus has the fastest growing economy in Europe, and the 27th in the world.
Belarus supplies Russia on economy related conditions. Belarus and Russia have also strengthened lines of communication for better trading routes. They have helped each other flourish.
Belarus has had massive growth in its economy for some years now, and it hasn't hurt that much since the huge collapse in Europe. Belarus is in debt, but less than half that of its annual GDP. Belarus also only has a 0.7% unemployment rate which is astonishing. It is the third smallest in the world. However, this was in 2010. At the collapse of the Soviet Union, all of its former countries faced an economic crisis. However, Belarus was doing better than everyone else as instead of switching to a capitalist economy, it created a socialist economy. Here, the government was able to keep the economy going and build it strong. However, in 2011, the economy of Belarus went more public. It began to fall and currently is not doing so hot. However, it is still growing strong compared to other European countries.
